We have a history of early innovation and leadership in file analysis and information governance, achieving Gartner Cool Vendor status and various Microsoft platform certifications as well as being a founding member of the Information Governance Initiative.

    Peter Baumann

    Peter is the CEO and co-founder of Active Navigation. A business builder who cut his teeth in the electronic publishing industry at Bureau van Dijk and then Standard & Poor’s Global Markets. He has 25+ years international experience in high growth finance and technology industries.

  • Rich Hale
    Rich Hale

    Rich served a full career in the Royal Air Force and became passionate about information governance and content valuation when he took on the RAF’s global information management and governance program. He focuses on pioneering technologies and practical approaches that enable organizations to discover, value and take control of their information estate.

  • Gary Hill
    Gary Hill

    Gary is our Head of Development and has been at the center of Active Navigation since its inception and his PhD from Southampton University, UK. Gary brings the intellect, expertise and technological insight that drive all aspects of our software solutions.

  • David Dawson
    David Dawson

    David is our Financial Director. He qualified at Coopers & Lybrand and has extensive experience at board level in both private and publicly traded companies including the listing of one venture on the London Stock Exchange.

  • Dean Gonsowski
    Dean Gonsowski

    Dean is Active Navigation’s Chief Revenue Officer where he focuses on orchestrating our go-to-market activities to drive growth and create an exceptional customer experience.  As an attorney by trade, he’s been an executive in the eDiscovery and information governance area for nearly 20 years, focusing mostly on high-growth, software companies.

  • John O’Connell
    John O’Connell

    Recognized as one of Europe’s top technology entrepreneurs, John is the Non-Executive Chairman of Active Navigation. John was founder, Chairman and CEO of workflow and business process management software company, Staffware Plc. The company grew as a publicly listed company before it was sold in 2004 for $250 million to Tibco Software Inc. John is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and was recognized as a Master of Information Technology by AIIM International. He co-authored the book ‘Mastering Your Organization’s Processes’, published by Cambridge University Press.

  • Neil Kipling
    Neil Kipling

    Neil is a Non-executive Director of Active Navigation and Chairman and CEO of IDBS, which he founded in 1989. He built IDBS into a leading provider of data management and analytics software for Life Science and Healthcare R&D. IDBS has won numerous industry and general awards, including being honored with double Queen’s Awards. Neil was awarded an honorary doctorate (DUniv) from the University of Surrey in 2008 for his outstanding contributions to biotechnology and cheminformatics on an international level. Neil is also a Patron of the Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership Group.

  • Peter Vardigans
    Peter Vardigans

    Peter has been a Non-executive Director of Active Navigation since 2003, and is the company’s former Chairman. His business experience spans more than 35 years. After an early finance career in industry, he co-founded Babcock & Brown in London in 1983, later becoming UK Chief Executive and an international partner of the firm. He now acts as an advisor and non-executive director for a range of technology and asset finance businesses.
